Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use InterviewAI, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data. By using InterviewAI you agree to this policy.

What data we collect

• Email address — collected when you start a session. Used to deliver your assessment report and manage session access.
• Session transcript — the text transcript of your interview session, generated automatically by our voice AI provider (Vapi). Used exclusively to generate your coaching report.
• Session metadata — which agent you spoke with and the date of your session. Used to manage your free session entitlement.
• Payment information — if you purchase a full session, payment is processed by LemonSqueezy. We never see or store your card details.

We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or any other personal information unless you voluntarily share it during your session.

How we use your data

• To generate and deliver your personalised assessment report by email
• To determine whether you are eligible for a free session (one per agent per 3 months)
• To improve the quality of our coaching agents over time

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering and improving our service.

AI processing

Your session transcript is processed by OpenAI's API to generate your coaching report. This means your transcript is transmitted to OpenAI's servers for analysis. OpenAI's data processing is governed by their Privacy Policy.

Your voice session is conducted via Vapi, an AI voice platform. Vapi's data processing is governed by their Privacy Policy.

We do not use your transcript to train AI models without your explicit consent.

Data retention

• Session logs (email + agent + date) — retained for 3 months, then automatically deleted
• Transcripts — processed to generate your report and not stored on our systems beyond that process
• Your report — delivered to your email. We do not retain a copy on our servers

Third-party services

InterviewAI uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Vapi — AI voice platform for conducting interview sessions
• OpenAI — AI language model for generating assessment reports
• LemonSqueezy — payment processing for full sessions
• Google — session log storage via Google Sheets
• Make (Integromat) — automation platform connecting our services
• Netlify — website hosting

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing their data handling.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Right to deletion — request that we delete your data from our systems
• Right to correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
• Right to object — object to how we process your data

Cookies

InterviewAI does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use browser sessionStorage solely to preserve your email address during a payment redirect, which is cleared when you close your browser tab.

Children

InterviewAI is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of The Interview Lab after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
